Sharon Tshipa is a Media Practitioner, Writer and Social Entrepreneur based in Gaborone, Botswana. She currently works as a Marketing Assistant for Xinhua News Agency, Botswana Bureau and is also a video, text and photography Freelancer for the Agency. Sharon is also a Videographer for Agence France Presse (AFP) and Juka Africa Agency as well as Freelance International Development Writer for Devex, a Washington based company. She is a co-founder and Chairperson of the Botswana Society for Human Development NGO.
As far as literary writing is concerned, she has short stories published in Brittle Paper, Deyu African, StoryMondo, The African Street Writer, The Kalahari Review, and Running Out of Ink online publications. Her short story titled ‘Like Little Ones Do’ won her a 2013 Kola Magazine Award in Nigeria. While she also won the 2015 Poetavango Award for Short Fiction for her short story titled ‘Reality for Sale’. Sharon is also a CACE Africa 2014 and 2015 Writivism Writivist/Mentee. When not writing short stories, Sharon writes music, poetry and novels. She is currently studying a Masters in Development Practice student at the University of Botswana.
